This is my third Reliable product and I highly recommend it to anyone who asks about the curious orange iron. The V50 has a solid build quality and feels good in your hand--its built so well that it survived a major fall onto a concrete floor (from ironing board height), got a big crack in the bottom, and just kept on going. I had it checked out by an electrician just in case and its still good internally. One user tip, turn the steam off when you stand the iron up and turn it back on when you iron. That way it doesn't spit and the steam goes where it is supposed to go. Also, it sounds different from other irons because the steam is generated by a small pump (you can hear it after the iron heats up to the desired setting) so just be aware that steam is not released unless the iron is at the right temperature. To answer a previous reviewer's question, the steam holes at the tip work very well (actually better) because the steam is concentrated and there's so much of it you can use it while the iron is upright! Also, hand placement can cause you to hit the button and change the heat setting accidentally but if you are conscious of it, it is easily avoided.

Love this iron! Really does not spit or leak. I love the constant steam, especially for upright jobs like curtains, etc. Also love how you can use a lower temp, but still get steam! My only slight (very slight) concern is sometimes I hit the button on the top which changes the heat setting. It's pretty easy to do, so have to watch out for that.

I used the V-50 Reliable iron for a 4 hour sewing event with Conkerr Cancer making pillowcases. I loved this iron! I hate ironing, but loved it with this iron. The button for constant steam was a blessing and the feel and weight of the iron was perfect. After the event instead of putting the iron back in our supply closet for the next event, I took it home to replace my Rowenta. Buy this iron you WILL NOT regret it!

I hate ironing but my shirts don't iron themselves - so I procrastinate and let a pile build up. I tried my iron for the first time last week after a pile of 15 shirts built up. Wow. Great product. Glides nicely. Good steam distribution. It easily lived up to my expectations.

I have been searching for the perfect iron for years and have tried just about every make and model but nothing has given me more than two years. I think I've found the perfect iron now. I read all the reviews and decided to try this iron since I knew of Reliable's reputation for sewing machines. I've had it for about two weeks and the steam is AMAZING. As is the case with many of the other reviewers, I do sew and iron just about everything. I would highly recommend this iron and look forward to seeing how it's doing in 2 years!

A month ago, I purchased a Velocity V50 iron. I had read numerous rave reviews about the steam output and overall performance of the iron and was very excited when it arrived. Except, it did not steam. I contacted your service and return departments requesting a return/replacement. I was contacted by Susan Marie who handled my situation professionally and quickly. She sent me a new V50 at no additional charge AND informed me that I did not have to return the original one. I was floored but this. In this day and age, this kind of customer service is almost nonexistent. The second iron works BEAUTIFULLY and I couldn’t be happier with it. It has lived up to all of the praise I had read about and heard. I sew and a quilt so a “dry” iron will actually be very helpful to me. Now I have two V50s that I am extremely pleased with. Thank you for a wonderful product and for wonderful people in your organization. Monica M. Cope Livonia, New York U.S.A.

The Velocity V50 is an awsome iron! It is light weight and never spits or leaks. When I want steam, it comes on and when I dont, it doesnt keep steaming even though I have put it down. It performs when what I want, how I want. Whether I need it warm or super hot, steam or no steam, it does it now. As a professional quilter, I need my iron to stay on. With the auto shut off by pass option, I can have the Velocity V50 on as long as I need to without it cooling down. I have plenty of quilting to do. I dont need to be worring about my iron being cold. I have put 2 of these irons in our classroom and when our students start to use them, they love them and buy them. Believe me, I know irons and am convinced that this is the very best iron on the market. Thank you for making an iron the way it should be made! I can not tell you how grateful that I am that FINALLY an amazing iron has been made. I have sewn and quilted for 35 years and I have never had an iron that is as dependable and cooperative as the Velocity V50. It is a priviege and a joy to not only use this iron at home, but to also recommend it with complete confidence to our valued customers. Karyn H. Customer Service Eleanor Burns ~ Quilt in a Day

My uber expensive Rowenta, bit the dust. Like it just quit, no power. I'm going through 2 irons a year and then...along comes my orange steam buddy! OMG finally, delivered from scorch hell, dirty steam spitting, water leaks, and intermittent steam/spray,and all other obviously know iron defects. How hard is it to make a good tool? Found it online Macys, traced back to Reliable, read the blogs, LOL everyone is just like me (I also read Method Laundry blog, and Biz pre-soak detergent blog so I am in awe of products that really work and are packaged correctly). Bought the iron, waited for UPS...hurry, hurry (my housekeeper had been without for 3 weeks), ahh it is finally here. Now comes the tug of war with my housekeeper over who gets to iron first. I let her win and because I have all night to steam up the laundry room + a facial at the same time. Thank you Reliable for restoring my peace of mind. Mary C. Jones, my maid from Jackson, MS taught me ironing at 8, need I say more?

Thank you Reliable! After years of buying irons that give out after 6 months of use, I think I have finally found my fit! I sew very little, but I was raised to IRON EVERYTHING! I received my new iron yesterday and have just completed my weekly ironing in half the time it used to take! I have an Irish Linen tablecloth that is enormous and a nightmare to iron. I zipped through ironing it today without a problem. This iron puts out sooooo much steam! It's amazing. I am so used to having to push for steam, but not anymore. The person above that questioned the steam holes only being on the top half of the iron, you need not worry! I'm so glad I took a chance and decided to order this iron. You've make ironing a breeze. Thank you. Oh, and the orange color rocks!

After buying a new iron every year, I think I have finally found my perfect match! I am not a sewer, but I iron everything. If something says, "No ironing needed", I iron it anyway. I spend a lot of time on a weekly basis ironing and was really tired of lousy, cheap, and expensive irons that spit and drip. I've had everything from B&D to Rowenta. I decided after a lot of shopping and internet shopping that I would splurge on something better. I ordered direct from Reliable. My iron arrived today and I couldn't wait to use it! I have an Irish Linen tablecloth that is a nightmare to iron. Not any more. The steam is fantastic! This iron I hope will fit my needs. It's not too heavy to use, and so far I have nothing but praise for this iron. Thank You!

Reliable is the word!! If one could be in love with an inanimate object., this would be mine!! She is a quilters dream. “O” yes she was on Oprah’s O list. But she is on mine too! This iron has a stainless steam soleplate for easy gliding over fabric . Large reservoir for water. AND the steam, my goodness, this baby can steam! NO, more need for starch or spray water bottles, even the toughest of wrinkles come out smooth. It has an auto turn off but also can easily turn to continuous use. AND Really !! It is orange and you all know that Orange is the new pink!! This is the ONE, yes the ONE and only iron you will ever need!

Hello Reliable, After 37 irons my search is over. First the color, can we talk about that -LOVE ORANGE, ok, features, love that it is heavy but it glides like an egg over butter in a hot iron pan...mmmmm, And can we talk steam...it is power steam, two irons over even linen, wow no wrinkles.. You would think this is a bit much talking about an iron like it was a fine glass of merlot...but really, I have drank many glasses crying over BAD irons in the past...I will raise my glass all 5 feet of me over my head...LOVE THIS IRON... Bye bye Bad IRONS< HElllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllo Reliable... x

As a rule I don't get very excited about irons but I must say that this one looks really cool. Plus with a rocking orange iron who wouldn't be motivated to press the day away!

I LOVE this iron!!!! The steam is fantastic, it doesn't leak, and the iron gets hot enough to take out the most stubborn wrinkles. Having the steam button on the side is so handy. You can turn the steam on and off without changing the position of your hand while pressing or ironing. I use this iron everyday in my job - quilting. Thank you Reliable for making such a wonderful iron.

I had the good fortune to use the Reliable V50 during the Spring Quilt Market. I can promise you it does exactly what it is advertised to do. I would recommend this iron to anyone who wants a quality iron that will produce continuous steam without leaving water on your fabrics or clothing. I guess I can brag that I knew it was wonderful before Oprah deemed it wonderful...LOL. I have found the Reliable Corporation to stand behind their products and have been quick to respond to any and all questions and consumer concerns. This company stands behinds their products. I have had only positive experiences with the company and their products. Smiles, Kelly Jackson
